This is another of those works where it feels like each of these images was created or was waiting to meet the other one, so well do they go together. There's such a synchronicity between them, not just in the colour palette but in the underlying sense of them, a kind of understated power that exists in these at first sight seemingly ultra feminine images.
The amazing corset dress is another from Simone Rocha's recent couture collection for John Paul Gaultier, I love how it plays with ideas of the corset, its history and perhaps even reputation. Rocha makes it perfectly her own. It's not something hidden away, used as a means to manipulate the wearer's body. In fact I feel it challenges the idea that that is how corsets must work.
